FAQ
What do navigators do?
Navigators provide in person application assistance to individuals, families, small businesses and their employees at initial health plan enrollment and when renewing coverage. Navigators are certified by the NY State Department of Health. Navigators are highly trained experts in the health enrollment process.
How can a navigator help?
Navigators remove barriers to the application process by providing assistance in multiple languages, in community based settings during non-traditional hours such as evenings and weekends. While we maintain regular locations and hours, STIC navigators will work around your schedule and constraints to find a time and meeting place that works for you. Navigators will assist you with your application and can explain your coverage options. Navigators provide the tools you need to find a plan that fits your needs.
How do I contact a navigator?
STIC navigators are readily available to assist you. You can call us at 607-724-2111 to be directed to a navigator near you. Our navigators are also available via email at navigators@stic-cil.org. You can also visit www.nystateofhealth.ny.gov to find a navigator directory for all of New York State.
